About The Event
Local Coast Guard personnel in association with Astoria Yacht Club will host a presentation for recreational boaters on preparing for a boating emergency on the lower Columbia River and nearshore areas.
Representatives of the Coast Guard will present a program designed to familiarize recreational boaters with the Coast Guard’s procedures and capabilities regarding rescues of boats and personnel in the Columbia River estuary and nearshore waters. Local medical personnel will present advice on how to prepare for common medical emergencies.
This free program is open to the public through the cooperation of the Columbia River Maritime Museum.
CG participation is dependent on DHS funding.
