About The Event

Local skipper Rich Elstrom will present a program detailing his adventures last summer in three ocean races:  the Pacific Northwest Offshore from Ilwaco to Victoria, BC, the Swiftsure race in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the TransPac from San Francisco to Honolulu.  He skippered his own boat Aja in the first two, and crewed on Dave Koller's Rebecca in the TransPac.  He finished in the top boats in all three. Skipper Dave Koller and TransPac crewmate Genevieve Pattie will also speak to present a multi-faceted look at what a long ocean race is like.

Dinner will be prime ribeye roast or roast salmon or a vegetarian entree (pick one), baked potatoes, rolls and a green salad.  Members should bring a side dish or dessert to share-- BYOB or beverages available from ship's stores for the usual donation. The cost will be $25 per person at the door except for the vegetarian option, which will be $10. (Please plan to stay…
